Left fielder Marcus Thames cracked a homer and had 2 RBI at the ballpark where
the Jefferson Park Penguins beat the Burbank Tigers by the score of 9 to
7.

Jefferson Park had 6 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 7th inning when
they had 4 base hits.  The big moment was provided by Kevin Youkilis who came
through for the home fans when he lofted a three-run bomb (his 14th of the
season).  Jefferson Park had 12 hits for the afternoon.  

Guillermo Mota(3-4) was the winner allowing 3 runs in 2 innings. Armando
Benitez recorded the save, his 18th.  Gil Meche(3-6) absorbed the loss.  He
was knocked around pretty good, giving up 7 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings.
